Statement from Darcy Burner on the Retirement of Congressman Jay Inslee

Upon hearing of the retirement announcement by Congressman Jay Inslee, First Congressional District candidate Darcy Burner issued the following statement:

“Jay Inslee has been a terrific representative of Washington’s 1st District, and he will be missed in Congress. He is an extremely dedicated public servant, an incredibly hard worker, and an even better person. Congressman Inslee has been a tremendous advocate for the development of the clean energy technologies that will power America through the 21st Century, and has focused on ensuring that any Washingtonian willing to work hard can find a job.

“While I am sure Congressman Inslee will be missed in Washington DC, I applaud his choice to focus full-time on the governor’s race here in Washington State. Having represented both sides of the state, he knows what Washingtonians want and what makes them tick. The voters face a clear choice in November, and I strongly support any decision that helps deliver Jay Inslee to the Governor’s Mansion.”
