DARCY BURNER ENDORSED BY IRONWORKERS
Today, congressional candidate Darcy Burner announced endorsement by Seattle-based Ironworkers Local 86, the Pacific Northwest Iron Workers District Council, and the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Union.
Ron Piksa, President of the Pacific Northwest Iron Workers District Council and General Vice President, Ironworkers International, said, “Darcy Burner is the best choice to represent Washington’s First District in Congress because of her strong support for adequate infrastructure funding. Darcy understands the need to get our economy moving again by investing in our roads, bridges and schools. She has long been a friend of both the Ironworkers and organized labor as a whole, and I know she will fight for Washington’s working families and ensure our members have access to good jobs here in Northwest Washington State.”
The Ironworkers endorsement is the first made by an international union in the WA-01 race. The union has nearly 2,200 members in the Seattle area, and 120,000 overall in North America.
“I am incredibly honored to have the support of the Ironworkers,” Burner said of the endorsement, “and I’m proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them as we fight together for a country that works for people who work for a living.”
